Philosophy

Matt believes the kicking game is an ongoing evolution, but the fundamentals remain the same. Kicking is both physical and mental and being prepared for different circumstances is essential. Confidence in who you are and what you do is crucial to your success. Matt has had the honor and privilege to work and learn with some of the very best and looks forward to sharing this knowledge with you. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced kicker Matt will enable you to be your best. Matt is focused on making Matt Nelson Kicking Academy a God centered business.

The mission of MNKA is to develop high school athletes into NCAA ‘blue chip’ kicking specialists by providing superior, individual-focused, year-round training, coaching, analysis, designed to optimize kicking distance, hang time, and accuracy through kicking lessons and kicking camps in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. MNKA will also help by providing recruiting opportunities for high school specialists.

National Camp Series

The National Camp Series (NCS) is a nationwide network of expert kicking coaches with NFL and College level playing experience. Our goal is to provide effective instruction on the field and guidance off of the field that will allow student-athletes the ability to leverage their sport to get a college education.

Kicker Tips

Upload your kicking videos to our cloud, a Kicker Tips professional will then critique and mark up your kicking film. You will receive the video via emailwith coaching from your choice of specialists that have played at the highest level possible.

About Me

Matt is currently a NFL Free Agent and has been taught by some of the best kickers in the history of the NFL (Matt Stover, Michael Husted, Josh Scobee, and Chris Boniol). Matt took what he learned from these players and became the all time leading scorer in Louisiana Tech history. Matt currently resides in Ruston, LA with his wife Kasie. Matt and Kasie attend The Bridge Community Church in Ruston.
